Brisbane Lunch and Dinner

Long lunch with the crew or a Sunday night with the family, these are my trusty tried and tested:

Botanica (Red Hill / Valley) – not a cafe as such but easily one of the best places to grab a take away vegan or vegetarian salad that will impress even the toughest critic! Their Israeli cous cous salad is sublime.

Villa Bowls – Bali inspired ‘Buddha bowls’ designed to be filling but also healthy! Vegan and vegetarian options available too!

Hatch and Co (Gasworks) – a great selection of meals to share including whole chicken, fish, lamb shoulder etc as well as smaller share plates (and a banquet option if  >8  people).

Cheeky (Newstead) – everyone loves a good cheeky poke, and these poke bowls are some of the best you’ll find in Brisbane at the moment. Come for the poke but stay for the sushi tacos!!

Sings (Rosalie / Coorparoo) – best described as pan-Asian style food, they serve cheap and cheerful food that is unbelievably tasty. Their noodle salad bowls are my go-to easy meal when I’m after something fresh, and their pad Thai is just phenomenal.

Suki (Gasworks / Southbank) – two words: sushi burritos!!

Comuna Cantina (CBD) – latina street food with unbelievable tacos and cocktails to die for.

Corbett and Claude (CBD) – pizzas and share plates that everyone will love.

Charlie’s Raw Squeeze (Everton Park) – a great option for on-the-go vegan salads and wraps, but can be slow with service for drinks and bowls so be prepared to wait (and do your grocery shopping at the same time).

Byblos (Portside) – Lebanese food that will always speak to my soul on a personal level.

Sushi Edo (multiple locations) – because there ain’t no shame in loving $3.50 sushi plates!

Mizu (Teneriffe) – seaweed salad, sashimi and the best teriyaki salmon this side of Japan.

Madame Wu (CBD) – Asian style fusion food with an entirely gluten free menu available.
