The idea for these oats was born from a recent trip to the Gerwurthaus store in Melbourne. With such a beautiful range of herbs and spices, it’s hard not to be inspired. This recipe uses their ‘cardamom pistachio sugar’, although a similar effect can be created at home with a few simple ingredients. While this is not the healthiest of breakfast options in terms of sugar content, the result is truly soul-warming!
Ingredients
- 1 cup oats
- 1 cup almond milk
- 1 teaspoon brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom (can also add 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon)
- 1 tablespoon crushed pistachios
Method
- Place the oats and almond milk in a bowl and mix well. Microwave on high for two minutes, or until the desired texture.
- Quickly sprinkle on the sugar, cardamom and pistachios while still hot and allow to melt slightly before eating.
